From 2019 to 2021, only 2% of all political ad airings mentioned abortion, ranking as the 21st, 24th, and 26th most mentioned issue respectively. In 2022, abortion ranked 2nd.

About the Report

After the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization ruling on June 24, 2022,  abortion became the 2nd most talked about issue in political ads.

Thirty-five percent of all Democratic ad airings in 2022 mentioned abortion compared to only three percent of Republican ads.
